Food Waste Processing and Digestion
Wayne McFarland, PE, GHD provided an overview of available feedstocks, potential improvements in biogas yields, and operational challenges associated with accepting these wastes in an anaerobic digestion treatment plant. In addition, Bill Rabbia provided a brief update on the construction of Oneida-Herkimer’s source separated organics processing facility.

Shaun Gannon, PE from OBG, part of Ramboll, provided an update on flood mitigation efforts that are being implemented to alleviate the impacts of flooding along the Sauquoit Creek in central Oneida County.

Dr. Jon A. Sundquist, Bartn & Loguidice, provided some context to emerging contaminants discussed in the new and the increased attention being paid to PFAS and 1,4-dioxane contamination. Dr. Sundquist discussed factors influencing the fate and transport of PFAS contamination, and why these contaminants are of concern

Stop the Bleed
Tony Salce, MVHS. Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and call-to-action. Stop the Bleed is intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. This training provided skills to assist someone that is in crisis.
